Celebrating International Women’s Day: Empowering Content and Resources for Business Owners

Today is International Women’s Day! While there are a lot of things to celebrate about our gender, I wanted to take a minute to highlight some amazing content for business owners (male and female), from women creators.

The Money with Katie podcast is one of my favorites for financial literacy, news, and thoughtful interviews with a variety of guests. Most recently (due to today’s date, I’m sure), she had an episode on Women’s Economic Power, which was eye opening for sure.

Mel Robbins is one of the most popular podcasts in the world - the world!! Her topics range from leadership, to family dynamics, to personal growth. It always feels like a great talk with your therapist, if you know what I mean.

I just downloaded The 5am Club: Own your Morning, Elevate Your Life to my audible, and I’m excited to dig in. While the leadership and performance world is dominated by male voices, Robin Sherma has risen to the top of the pile as an expert who gets results for her clients. Let’s see if this has any affect on my snooze button habit.

Grit by Susan Cain is a good one. She has long been a respected expert psychologist, and her book explores why some people with loads of talent fail, and some people without natural talent succeed. So good for anyone who feels like the cards might be stacked against them.

Also, don’t sleep on Worthy: How to Believe You Are Enough and Transform Your Life, the latest book from Jamie Kern Lima, who I found by listening to Mel’s podcast. Her success as the founder and CEO of IT Cosmetics is fascinating, but her lessons on leadership and confidence cannot be overlooked. Especially if you’re raising humans.

The soccer mom in me is THRILLED to be seeing women’s sports get the national hype and attention they so rightly deserve. If you’re not following along, Instagram accounts Togethxr and JustWomensSports are super fun ones, as a start. My daughter’s soccer team is having a watch party for the Wave vs Gotham game next week, and my husband and son will be in their Wave gear too!

I am not a basketball fan, but if you catch me in a Caitlin Clark tshirt, just know I did it for the little girlies, ok?

Lastly, there are a ton of resources for professional women in NH, here are a few of my favorites:

  • Coworking House an inspiring space for members to dream, and a safe place for members to share, CoHo is where connection, community, and collaboration happens.

Want to join me in celebrating International Women’s Day? I dare you to send an email or a DM to a woman in your industry and tell her she’s doing great. Will you do it?!

Let it be easy friends.
